In 2018 Kroger launched a new home delivery service for dry goods similar to Amazon Pantry, but for the Kroger-loyal customer. My team was tasked with concepting and designing the boxes, as well as developing an in-store signage system to announce the launch of the “Ship” modality. The objective for the boxes was to “Surprise and Delight” the customer, clearly explain the new ecommerce platform, and be executable across 10+ different box sizes. The “Build a City” box concept was chosen because it tied into their Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative by giving the box a second life. I also developed a signage system that clearly differentiates this new modality from the existing Pickup and Delivery services Kroger offers.
